Perfect addition to all your salads!
Candied-Almond Sesame Crunch
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 cup slivered raw almonds
- 1/2 cup other nuts and seeds (such as mix of sesame seeds and pistachios)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/8 tsp MSG
- 2 teaspoons fine salt (this was tested with fine Himalayan salt)
- Freshly ground pepper to taste
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients into a large pan over medium-to-medium low heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the almonds are toasty and brown and the sugar has dissapeared. It should take around 10-15 minutes for them to toast and cook, so lower the heat if it feels like it's going too fast and raise it if it's taking forever! You can't really mess it up unless you burn them, which is possible so watch it!
- After cooling, mine kept well in the pantry for over a month just in a deli container!
